Officially With PKPU Status, Customers Don't Need To Worry Because Garuda Indonesia Operations Are Still Running Normally And The Travel Fair Is Still Running
JAKARTA - PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk is officially in a temporary Debt Payment Obligation (PKPU) status. During the PKPU process, Garuda ensures that all aspects of flight operational activities will continue as normal.
President Director of Garuda Indonesia Irfan Setiaputra said that Garuda is committed to always optimizing the availability of safe and comfortable flight services to meet the mobility needs of the community, as well as cargo transportation for the national economic sector.
"No operations have changed, we ensure that operations continue as they are currently being carried out regardless of this PKPU. We will continue to make improvements that can be given," he said, in a virtual press conference, Thursday, December 9.
Furthermore, said Irfan, flight services during the Christmas and New Year (Nataru) period will continue to run and continue to prioritize strict health protocols.
"We make sure that the Garuda Travel Fair tomorrow will continue as planned regardless of this PKPU. We will be committed to passengers, your trust will not be compromised," he said.
As is known, the Central Jakarta District Court granted the PKPU claim submitted by PT Mitra Buana Koorporindo (MBK) in the verdict hearing, Thursday, December 9. In the PKPU decision, Garuda was asked to submit a debt restructuring proposal to Mitra Buana Koorporindo in the next 45 days.
"The provisional PKPU decision gives us 45 days to submit a peace proposal that includes a plan to restructure business obligations to creditors. We will coordinate with the Management Team under the supervision of the Supervisory Judge and ensure all related matters are carried out in accordance with applicable law," he explained.
Furthermore, Irfan said that he would continue to ensure the peace proposals submitted on an ongoing basis. The peace proposal will also be submitted in a balanced and proportional manner to the plaintiffs.
"With the support of all stakeholders and market conditions that are getting better as seen at the beginning of the fourth quarter of 2021, we are also optimistic that Garuda can realize a more sustainable performance recovery going forward," he said.
