Cool! 11 Local Durians From Tabalong, South Kalimantan Have Been Registered At The Ministry Of Law And Human Rights

KALSEL - A total of 11 local specific durian varieties in Tabalong Regency, South Kalimantan (Kalsel) received a Communal Intellectual Property certificate from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights (Kemenkum HAM).

Tabalong Regent Anang Syakhfiani said the certificate was handed over directly by the Head of the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of South Kalimantan Province, Tejo Warwanto.

"It is very proud that the local Tabalong durian can get a certificate of Communal Intellectual Property from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights," said Anang in Tanjung, Antara, Thursday, December 9.

Local durian varieties that have received certificates are Gantar Bumi Uya, Taradak Uya Durian, Kamundai Kuning, Kamundai Merah, Likol Burum (Durio sp), Layung Burum, Likol Kuning, Likol Santuun, Layung Pujung, Pempakin Merah and Durian Sisaat Lumbang.

The Head of the Genetic Resources Management Section for Fruits and Ornamental Plants at the Tabalong Distan Endang Susilowati Dwi Hartati said the Sisit Durian variety and the Tiung Tanjung cayenne pepper variety also received certificates from the Ministry of Agriculture.

"The Sisit Durian variety and the Tiung Tanjung cayenne pepper variety also received a local variety certificate from the Ministry of Agriculture," explained Endang.

Previously 10 local durians 'Bumi Saraba Kawa' also received a certificate of plant variety protection rights from the Center for Plant Variety Protection and Agricultural Licensing (PPVTPP).

Each local durian is Layung Burum, Tandak Uya, Pempakin Merah, Layung Pujung, Gantar Bumi Uya, Likol Burum and Likoi Kuning. Tabalong Regency, is a district known for its wealth of natural resources, be it mining, forests and culture.

Tabalong Regency, also known as a paradise for endemic fruits, can be found in many forest areas, including durian and other rare fruits.
