Task Force: Only 3 Active Cases Of COVID-19 In Riau Islands
TANJUNGPINAG - The Riau Islands Province COVID-19 Handling Task Force stated that there were only three active cases in the region after three patients were declared cured.
Spokesperson for the Riau Islands COVID-19 Handling Task Force, Tjetjep Yudiana, said that there were only three active cases of COVID-19 in the Riau Islands, two in Batam and one in Karimun.
Based on data from the Riau Islands COVID-19 Task Force, there are currently no additional new cases of patients infected with the new type of corona virus.
"We have received reports that three Batam residents have recovered from COVID-19, so the active cases in Batam have been reduced to two," said the former Head of the Riau Islands Health Office.
Currently, he said, five regencies and cities in Riau Islands, namely Lingga, Anambas, Natuna, Bintan, and Tanjungpinang have zero active cases of COVID-19. Tanjungpinang City recently followed Lingga, Natuna, Anambas Islands and Bintan Regencies, which had zero active cases of COVID-19.
The COVID-19 Task Force has designated Natuna as a green zone, while five other regencies and cities in Riau Islands still have the status of a yellow zone or low risk of transmission. For Lingga Regency which was suddenly designated as a yellow zone, it was due to an error in inputting data.
According to him, Lingga should have remained a green zone because there were no active cases of COVID-19 since about two months ago.
"We have asked the authorities to clarify to the Ministry of Health so that the actual conditions are known," he said.
