PB Wushu Indonesia Leader Airlangga Hartarto Hands Over Rp500 Million Aid For Victims Of The Mount Semeru Disaster
JAKARTA - The Executive Board of Wushu Indonesia (PB WI) led by Airlangga Hartarto handed over assistance worth Rp. 500 million through the Yellow Clinic for victims of the natural disaster of the eruption of Mount Semeru.
The handover of this assistance was carried out by the Secretary General (Sekjen) PB Wushu Ngatino who was accompanied by the Chair of the DKI Jakarta WI Pengprov Province Gunawan Tjokro on the sidelines of the Indonesia Wushu All Games 2021 which was held at the Gelora Bung Karno Tennis Indoor Stadium (GBK), Jakarta, Thursday, and symbolically received by the Secretary of the Yellow Clinic Dr. Linda Lukitari together with Dr. Tiara.
"PB WI and the wushu community are concerned about the eruption of Mount Semeru. Hopefully this assistance can ease the burden on the people who are victims," Ngatino said in an official statement received by VOI, Thursday, December 9.
The plan is that the Yellow Clinic volunteer, which was formed by Airlangga Hartarto, will be at the disaster site for 14 days.
Since the eruption of Mount Semeru, the Yellow Clinic has sent volunteer medics and three ambulances to help disaster victims. Funds from PB WI will be used to purchase basic foodstuffs and medicines and other necessities.
"We focus more directly on the community by involving the village head because in refugee camps there is certainly a lot of assistance provided. So, those who are not in the refugee camps can get supplies of food ingredients and people who are sick are given health services and medicines. from the Yellow Clinic medical staff," said Linda Lukita.
The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) reported that 39 people died from the hot clouds and avalanches of Mount Semeru.
"The data on the death toll per day recorded 39 dead and 13 missing," said Abdul Muhari, Acting Head of the BNPB Disaster Data, Information and Communication Center.
