Car Slips Into Infiltration Well That Subsides, Deputy Governor Of DKI: Contractors Must Be Responsible
JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria, considers the sinking of the infiltration well as being crossed by cars in the Lebak Bulus area as the contractor's responsibility.
According to Riza, contractors who are partners with the DKI Provincial Government in the construction of infiltration wells are responsible for the quality of the water infiltration facilities.
"Of course, contractors on duty must ensure that their work is in accordance with existing specifications, procedures, regulatory mechanisms, and must be responsible, yes. Anyone who violates this will be given a sanction," said Riza at DKI City Hall, Central Jakarta, Thursday, December 9th.
Riza said that infiltration wells that were damaged or collapsed when they were just finished were usually caused because the cover made was temporary and not permanent.
Riza thanked residents who reported complaints about infiltration wells.
"Later, every community, if there is information, we are grateful. Whatever the form of information, convey it through the Jaki and through existing channels in the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. Later officers will follow up and fix it," he explained.
For information, the tire of a car fell into an infiltration well on the road in the Taman Bona Indah area, Lebak Bulus, Central Jakarta. The infiltration well, which is covered with asphalt, burst because it was run over by a car tire.
Previously, the infiltration well on Jalan Lebak Bulus III, Cilandak, South Jakarta had also collapsed and was then paved. The asphalting was carried out to cover the infiltration well which was just made a month ago. Then, 23 points of infiltration wells are perforated to absorb water.
It turned out that the car belonged to the chairman of the PSI DPP Isyana Bagoes Oka. Isyana said that at that time the car was being driven by the driver alone.
He was not in the car at the time of the incident. However, according to the driver's confession, at that time the car was driving normally, even at a low speed.
"The car is being used by my driver who wants to buy lunch. According to him, after buying lunch, he was passing at low speed, suddenly the right rear wheel of the car fell into the water infiltration hole project, which has been completed," said Isyana.
At that time, the driver asked for help from several people around the location to lift the stuck car.
Isyana highlighted the quality and safety factors in the construction of infiltration wells by the DKI Provincial Government. He asked that the construction of this vertical drainage no longer harm road users.
"This can happen to anyone. It is better to pay attention to quality and safety factors in a work like this. Do not let there be victims from passing motorists," said Isyana.
