Don't Want To Be Like The Job Creation Law, PKS Reminds The Special Committee Not To Haste To Discuss The IKN Bill

JAKARTA - The Special Committee (Pansus) for the Draft Law (RUU) on the State Capital (IKN) has been formed to immediately discuss the relocation of the capital city.

The composition of the membership composition of the Special Committee for the IKN Bill is based on the consideration and distribution of the members of each faction as well as the level of complexity of the discussion. This brings the total members of the special committee to 56 people.

However, Member of Commission V from the PKS faction of the DPR Suryadi Jaya Purnama, assessed that this number exceeded the provisions stipulated in Article 104 of the Regulation of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia Number 1 of 2020 concerning Orders.

"In addition to the number of special committee members who exceed the provisions, the process of discussing the IKN Bill also seems rushed even though the issues discussed in this bill are quite complex. So it takes time to carry out discussions so that it can accommodate more input from the community," Suryadi told reporters, Thursday. , December 9th.

Some of the substances that must be criticized, said Suryadi, are related to the choice of location to move the State Capital to the North Penajam Paser area, East Kalimantan. Then also the selection of the transfer time, the transfer mechanism and the form of IKN government and financing problems.

Therefore, he said, the PKS faction reminded that the discussion of the IKN Bill should not be carried out in a hurry and must involve the wider community.

"Don't let an incident like the Job Creation Act happen again, which was ultimately decided by the Constitutional Court to be corrected because it did not involve public participation," said Suryadi.

As is known, the Special Committee for the IKN Bill has been formed from 9 factions in Parliament. Consists of 6 leaders and 50 members of the Special Committee for the IKN Bill.
