Missing Since September 2021, Residents Of Koto Solok, West Sumatra, Found Only Skeletons In The Palm Oil Plantation
SUMBAR - Resort Police (Polres) Dharmasraya Regency, West Sumatra (West Sumatra) revealed a human skeleton found in an oil palm plantation owned by a resident. The skeleton is Herawati (37) who was declared missing since last September 2021.
Herawati is a resident of Nagari (Indigenous Village) Koto Salak, reported Koto Salak District.
"The statement from the family stated that the clothes, pants and underwear found at the crime scene were the last clothes the victim wore when she left the house," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Dharmasraya Police Iptu Dwi Angga, on Punjung Island, Antara, Thursday, December 9.
He said the bodies of the victims, which were only the skeletons, had been taken by the family for further burial. At the request of the family also, the victim's body was not performed an autopsy.
However, he said the police would continue to investigate the incident by collecting statements from witnesses.
"While it is still being investigated with the information collected," he said.
Previously, residents of Jorong Padang Bintungan III Nagari Sialang Gaung, Koto Baru District were shocked by the discovery of an unidentified human skeleton in an oil palm plantation owned by a local resident, Wednesday, December 8.
Wali Nagari Sialang Gaung, Koto Baru District, Syahrial said the village government first received information about the discovery of the skeleton from the head of Jorong Padang Bintungan III.
He explained that the human skeleton was first discovered by Wakimin Dogol (40), a resident of Jorong Padang Bintungan III at around 11.00 WIB.
"So our residents were cleaning their gardens when they suddenly saw this human skeleton, after that they immediately reported the incident to the jorong device," he said.
He added that based on information from local residents, there had been no smell of carrion in the past month. According to the garden owner, it has not been long since he cleaned his garden.
