Urged By Labor To Revise UMP 2022, Deputy Governor Of DKI: As Long As The PP Has Not Been Amended, We Must Not Violate It

JAKARTA - Labor urges the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan to revise the decree (SK) regarding the determination of the Jakarta provincial minimum wage (UMP) in 2022 through a demonstration held in front of the DKI City Hall, yesterday.

Responding to this, the Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahmad Riza Patria, admitted that the provincial government cannot change the determination of the 2022 UMP so that it is higher than the current one.

This is because it refers to a derivative rule of the Job Creation Act, namely Government Regulation Number 36 of 2021 concerning Wages.

"We must obey and obey existing regulations, including PP No. 36 of 2021 which we obey. As long as the PP has not been changed, we must not violate it. We must obey and obey the rules," said Riza at the DKI City Hall. , Central Jakarta, Thursday, December 9th.

However, Riza said that his party was still waiting for a response from the Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah regarding the letter sent by Anies regarding the DKI UMP.

In the letter numbered 533/-085.15, Anies asked Ida Fauziyah to review the UMP formula regulated in PP 36 of 2021. Based on the PP 36 formula, the increase in the UMP in Jakarta was only IDR 37,749 or 0.85 percent to IDR 4,453,935 per year. month.

In the letter, Anies said that the increase could be said to be lower than the rate of increase in prices, aka inflation for daily necessities, which had reached 1.14 percent or higher than the percentage increase in the UMP. He considered that the increase was far from feasible and did not fulfill the hope of justice considering the increase in the living needs of workers as seen from Jakarta's inflation of 1.14 percent.

However, once again, the DKI Provincial Government cannot do much other than wait for Ida's follow-up regarding the letter that was sent.

"The provincial government has submitted it to the central government through the ministry. We hope that the formula is corrected, revised. That's right now the authority is in the ministry, at the center, not with us," said Riza.

"We are waiting, hopefully there will be a good response. Of course, the central government also has many considerations that we must also listen to," he continued.
