Regarding Child Prostitution Cases, This Is The Reason Cynthiara Alona Was Only Imprisoned For 10 Months

JAKARTA - Artist Cynthiara Alona underwent a verdict hearing on Wednesday, December 8 at the Tangerang District Court. Alona was seen attending this trial via virtual.

Cynthiara Alona received a lower sentence than the prosecutor demanded, which was 10 months in prison. He was found guilty and violated Article 296 of the Criminal Code regarding obscene acts.

When she heard the verdict, Alona cried when she received the verdict. The public prosecutor (JPU) initially demanded Alona for six years in prison and a fine of IDR 200 million.

The 10-month prison sentence is fair because according to the judge, Cynthiara Alona is very cooperative and has never been involved in a legal case.

Previously, the police arrested Cynthiara Alona because her hotel was used as a location for online prostitution. There are at least 15 minors who were victims and received recovery.

Arrested in March, 30 rooms in the hotel have been occupied by children and men who have hired the service.

Cynthiara Alona is not alone. He was arrested along with hotel managers and pimps who co-founded this business. They said online prostitution was created to cover hotel operational costs during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Cynthiara Alona was found to have violated Article 296 of the Criminal Code regarding obscene acts and was jailed for 10 months.
