Ahok's Visit to PAG Confirms Support for Pertamina Gas Subholding to Develop Asia Hub LNG Center

JAKARTA - PT Pertamina Arun Gas (PAG) as Pertamina Gas Subholding is committed to developing its business steps into an International LNG Hub Center optimally. President Commissioner (Komut) of PT Pertamina (Persero), Basuki Tjahaja Purnama alias Ahok appreciated the innovation and business development carried out by PAG in an effort to become an LNG Hub Center in Asia.

He conveyed this during a working visit to PAG, Pertamina's Subholding Gas Group in Lhokseumawe, Monday, December 6. Ahok, PAG's business expansion step is a manifestation of Pertamina's vision to become a World Class Company.

"It turns out that PAG, although slowly but surely, is able to show its existence which is adapted from the corporate vision," said Ahok.

He also reminded that PAG must continue to spur its business to become one of the leading gas sub-holding companies in Pertamina.

"We encourage gas sub-holding to further develop and commit to ensuring the reliability of the refinery. Not only that, but PAG must also provide benefits to the environment around the company," added Basuki.

"LNG Hub Arun plays an important role in natural gas monetization for foreign and domestic purposes, because the opportunities in the LNG era will be utilized by sub-holding gas to improve business performance. In addition to supporting Oil and Gas Holding strategic programs, one of which is global market expansion," added the Strategy Director. and PGN Business Development, Heru Setiawan who accompanied the visit.

Meanwhile, PAG's President Director, Arif Widodo, emphasized PAG's commitment to business innovation to make a major contribution to the Acehnese economy and national energy security.

"Since operating in 2015, PAG has developed the concept of 12 Business Plans with the implementation of specific strategies to achieve the vision of becoming a World-Class LNG Hub and Regasification Company," he said.

PAG has also won the trust of the Ministry of Finance for a Bonded Logistics Center (PLB) certificate, where PAG can receive LNG from all sources both from within and outside the country, then manage and re-export it as well as for domestic needs.

"PAG as the implementer of domestic LNG regasification, one of its sources of supply comes from Tangguh where 100 percent is used for domestic needs for PLN and fertilizers. As for re-exports, PAG accommodates an average of 2-3 LNG cargoes with a capacity of 150,000 M3 for storage ( storage). As a logistics center with several partners, the LNG will be reloaded by partners to around 160,000 – 170,000 M3, "said Arif some time ago.

For the Regasification Plant, PAG currently has 405 MMSCFD. The regasified gas is sent to two PLTMG Arun power plants with a capacity of 184 MW and 250 MW.

"Then we will also send the LNG regasification results to the Belawan area with a 350 km long pipeline. In addition, it will also increase to the Sei Mangke Industrial Estate as far as 550 KM," Arif added.

PAG also carries out a cooling down process for LNG ships that will be reloading. On average, the LNG ship loading process takes shorter than the maximum laytime. This confirms PAG's commitment to make a special port that can serve the needs of ships with international standards.

Arif hopes that the working visit of the Pertamina Komut will boost the motivation of PAG officers to give the best performance in achieving company targets.

"Almost 90 percent of PAG workers are Aceh's best sons and daughters. It is hoped that they will be the next generation who will contribute to the progress of Aceh Province and benefit the community," he added.
