At the suspect's gold shop, the police confiscated half a kilogram of counterfeit gold evidence in the form of various types of jewelery ready to be sold.
Kasubdit Indagsi Ditreskrimsus Polda Bengkulu Kompol Novi Ari added, the disclosure of the case of counterfeit gold sales stems from his party receiving reports from the public.
In the report, said Novi, the reporter admitted that he was suspicious of the gold jewelry he had just bought from the suspect's shop, because there were differences in the form of gold purchased.
The reporter then checked the gold jewelry he had bought and it was found out that the gold jewelry was fake.
"Initially there were reports from the public that suspected the gold was fake, we investigated it and it turned out to be true, this is the result of laboratory tests, the gold is fake, not intact," said Novi.
