TANGERANG - Residents of Begog Village in Pekayon Village, Sukadiri District, Tangerang Regency, Banten Province were surprised to see leaves moving while cleaning up trash from fallen tree trunks, Tuesday, December 7 evening.
Behind the leaves there is a reptile with a size large enough to move slowly. The resident named Usman (45) was shocked and immediately ran to call one of his colleagues.
When looked at with his colleagues, apparently the animal is a reticulated python. Its size is estimated to reach 3 meters.
"While cleaning up a fallen tree, I was suddenly surprised to see the leaves moving. When I saw a reticulated python," Usman said as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, December 8.
Usman then asked his friend for help to catch the flower python using the available equipment.
"About three meters of the snake. It was brought by the village secretary to the Sukadiri District Police Post," he said.
Head of the Peace and Order Section of Sukadiri Sub-district Hendi Hendrayana said that the reticulated pythons would then be handed over to the Natural Resources Conservation Center (BKSDA). "It will be handed over to the BKSDA," he said.
