Make Proud! Indonesia Given A Mandate By Brunei, Malaysia And Singapore To Be The Coordinator Of Religious Education

JAKARTA - Indonesia is set to be the coordinating country for education and religious appreciation after the Ministers of Religion from Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore (Mabims) held a virtual meeting today.

"We will do our best to carry out this mandate, hopefully in the next five years we can achieve the optimal outcome of improving education and strengthening the appreciation of religion among the countries of Mabims," said Deputy Minister of Religion Zainut Tauhid who represented the Minister of Yaqut Cholil Qoumas. in a written statement received in Jakarta, Antara, Wednesday, December 8.

Wamenag Zainut Tauhid said, Indonesia is a country that is geographically the largest, most, and diverse population among other Mabims member countries.

In addition, Indonesia is also a country with the largest Muslim population in the world. In this way, he hopes that Indonesia's experience can be an important reference for the Mabims country in terms of education and religious appreciation.

"In addition, what is no less important is the flying minutes (flying hours) in order to determine the latest Mabims rukyah imkanur can be realized this year. So that we can use the criteria as soon as possible in 2022," he said.

The two -year forum was attended by Brunei Darussalam Minister of Religious Affairs Pehin Dato Uztaz Haji Badaruddin Othman, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Malaysia Tuan Haji Idris bin Ahmad, and Minister of Family Social Development, Second Minister of Health, and Minister Responsible Singapore Muslim Community Mr. Masagos Zulkifli bin Masagos Muhammad.

Also present was the Senior Minister in charge of the Special Mission for Islamic Affairs of the Government of Cambodia, Oknha Datuk Dr. Othsman Hassan, Senior Offices of the Ministry of Religious Affairs of the MABIMS countries, as well as the First and Second Echelon Offices of the Ministry of Religion.

He hoped that with this meeting and the work program of the two countries, the relationship between the Ministers of Mabims could be more intimate.

"Not only do we meet in the bi-annual Mabims forum, but we can meet at any time both bilaterally and multilaterally," Wamenag said.
