Governor Lukas Enembe Asks Regional Heads In Papua To Observe Budget Effectiveness, Don't Waste It
PAPUA - Papua Governor Lukas Enembe asked regional heads in his region to regularly monitor the effectiveness of activities and budgets, either on a monthly or quarterly basis.
"This is to ensure that all ministry or agency programs and local governments run optimally and continue to make improvements," said Lukas in Jayapura as quoted by Antara, Wednesday, December 8.
According to Lukas, regional heads are also asked to improve coordination and synergy between ministries or agencies, regional governments as well as central and regional governments. The goal, explained Lukas, is so that the output target of development activities can be achieved effectively as well as efficiently.
"The regional head must also ensure that the budget allocation is focused on the main activities, which are directly felt by the community," he said.
He explained that regional heads were also asked to limit and save on supporting expenditures such as meeting costs, business trips and honorariums.
"Regional heads are asked to eliminate budget abuse, either in the form of waste, markups, or other deviant acts," he said.
He added that agency leaders, for example, must participate in supervising and optimizing the support of internal supervisory officers in each ministry or agency and local government.
"Regional heads should carry out socialization and communication to the public regarding activities, budgets and the outputs achieved, so that the public gets complete and correct information about the government's work program as well as the results," he said.
