Demo In Front Of Anies's Office Can Be Disappointing, Labor: TGUPP Is Useless
JAKARTA - A group of workers who held a demonstration demanding a revision to the increase in the provincial minimum wage (UMP) at the City Hall of DKI Jakarta was disappointed.
The intention was to meet Anies directly to ask for confirmation on the revision of the decision letter (SK) to increase the DKI UMP for 2022, which only increased by 0.85 percent to Rp. 4,453,935, they instead met members of the Governor's Team for the Acceleration of Development (TGUPP) DKI.
The presence of TGUPP members in the negotiation meeting between the workers and the DKI Provincial Government did not get the results that the workers wanted. The chairman of the DPD Confederation of All-Indonesian Trade Unions (KSPSI) AGN DKI Jakarta, William Yani Wea, views TGUPP as useless.
"I hope TGUPP helps the unions to remind the Governor of the need to revise the UMP, so that tgupp is useful. The message from us at the meeting was that the TGUPP has some use. Don't just have a lot of it but it's useless, it doesn't work," said William at DKI City Hall, Wednesday, December 8.
In addition to TGUPP, Head of the Manpower, Transmigration and Energy Agency Andri Yansyah and Head of the DKI Kesbangpol Agency Taufan Bakri also attended the meeting. But unfortunately they also can not confirm when the revision of the DKI UMP will be carried out.
"There is no certainty. We don't blame the Head of Manpower and the Head of Bakesbangpol because their authority does not end there. The authority lies with the Governor," said William.
For information, today the workers held a massive action. They made two demands. Initially, the action plan was held in front of the Constitutional Court Building demanding an explanation from the Constitutional Court for the decision on the lawsuit against Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation which was declared conditionally unconstitutional.
Then, the action was continued in front of the DKI City Hall to collect Governor Anies Baswedan's promise to revise the DKI provincial minimum wage (UMP) in 2022. This is because Anies promised to revise the governor's decree (SK) related to the UMP on the basis of justice.
