Yellow Clinic Golkar Help Victims Of Mount Semeru Eruption

LUMAJANG - The eruption of Mount Semeru left a deep concern. A number of aids continued to arrive, both from the central government, regional governments and from various elements of society.

Previously, the East Java Golkar Party had already moved to provide various aids in the form of food and medical equipment shortly after the eruption on Saturday, December 4.

In accordance with instructions from the General Chair of the Golkar Party, conveyed after the eruption of Mount Semeru, Airlangga Hartarto asked all Golkar cadres to build refugee posts and public kitchens.

The cadres and sympathizers of the Golkar Party in East Java quickly moved to provide assistance to residents affected by the eruption of Mount Semeru.

The Golkar Party's DPP Disaster Management Agency also rushed to the disaster site to distribute basic needs for the community, such as basic necessities and setting up public kitchens.

Yellow Clinic, the medical instrument of the Golkar Party, has established health posts as health services for residents.

According to a statement from the person in charge of the Golkar Yellow Clinic, Dwi Hartanto, since Monday night two ambulances and one Yellow Clinic operational vehicle have been dispatched to Lumajang. The coordination point is placed at the Lumajang Golkar Party DPD office

"To provide health assistance at evacuation points scattered in Lumajang during the emergency response period, the Yellow Clinic health volunteers will remain there," said Dwi Hartanto.

"This is in accordance with the Ketum's orders," explained Dwi Hartanto.

On Wednesday morning the Yellow Clinic team consisting of doctors and nurses arrived in Pronojiwo, one of the sub-districts that was severely affected by the eruption.

Dr. Ines Marcelina from the Yellow Clinic team of doctors said the team had been serving the health of the refugees since Wednesday morning in Pronojiwo.

"We plan to stay here until Thursday afternoon," Ines said.

"After that, we shifted to other sub-districts in Lumajang, although there were many problems with facilities and infrastructure, we are still enthusiastic to help the community, including serving pregnant women and children this morning," said Ines.

The Yellow Clinic team was informed that the affected areas include Pronojiwo District, Supiturang village, Oro Rombo, Sumblurip. Damage to houses as many as 2970 that must be relocated. While the affected victims died 29 people (already evacuated), 100 people were lightly injured, and 69 people seriously injured.
