Film Enters Post-Production, Falcon Releases 2 Books Of Buya Hamka And Komsi Komsa
JAKARTA - Falcon Publishing has officially released two books entitled Buya Hamka by A. Fuadi and Komsi Komsa by ES Ito.
Buya Hamka's book tells the life of a great Indonesian figure, Buya Hamka. With a novel concept, this book is narrated by A. Fuadi.
“Buya Hamka's novel is a story of a historical figure who is trying to be narrated with a novel. I try to comply with some historical facts. This can add insight into hamka, which has been known for its clerical side, but there is also a life side to it,” said A. Fuadi at a virtual press conference on Wednesday, December 8.
There is also Komsi Komsa which tells the journey of a young man who travels to several countries in the world and gets involved in conflict. Through his new work, ES Ito tries to make history writing style not to be boring.
“Reading history is boring. I don't blame the readers. But how to write history so that it is not boring is what is needed. I wrote Komsi Komsa, as my third attempt to get people to read about history,” said ES Ito.
Between the two books published, Buya Hamka is being prepared by Falcon in a big screen format and directed by Fajar Bustomi. He explained that this film had gone through an in-depth research process on the figure of Hamka.
"The shooting process was long before the pandemic. We filmed for almost six months in several areas of mainland Sumatra, Lake Maninjau, Parungpanjang, Tegal and in Cairo," said Fajar Bustomi.
Vino Bastian as the actor Buya Hamka also has similarities with the character he plays.
"This Vino (Bastian) has a history of his parents. He is of West Sumatran descent. Vino was totally amazing when I met Vino to discuss this film," explained Fajar.
However, Fajar has not been able to say when the Buya Hamka film will be released in theaters. Currently, the film is still going through post-production stages so he is waiting for Falcon Pictures to share a release date.
