PPKM Level 3 Canceled, PDIP Politicians: Don't Be Careless, Stay Alert

JAKARTA - Member of the House of Representatives Commission IX from the PDIP Faction, Rahmad Handoyo, warned all elements of the nation not to be careless with the dangers of contagion of COVID-19. This appeal follows the cancellation of the implementation of PPKM level 3, which the government plans to implement during the Christmas and New Year (Nataru) holidays.

Vigilance, according to Rahmad, needs to be increased by continuing to implement strict health protocols nationally. Given, several countries are experiencing the third wave of COVID-19.

"Although the government has decided to cancel level 3 in the Nataru holiday nationally, we urge you not to be careless and continue to increase national awareness of the threat of wave 3 by continuing to massively and strictly use health protocols. Considering other countries with high vaccination program rates, such as Europe The wave of COVID-19 is still high," said Rahmad, Wednesday, December 8.

Although currently the complete vaccination rate has reached 56 percent and the stage 1 vaccine is more than 70 percent nationally, the member of the health commission warned, as has happened to countries in Europe, that a high wave of COVID-19 can still lurk.

"That's why vaccinations and health protocols are mandatory and shouldn't be slack," he said.

The Central Java legislator emphasized that the cancellation of PPKM level 3 nationally also provided an opportunity for local governments to become commanders of the handling of COVID-19 in their area. "This means that each region will be the commander of COVID-19 control in its area through tightening the Nataru holiday in each region," said Rahmad.

On the other hand, the PDI-P politician asked that the central government's policy should be dynamic and situational, considering the Omicron variant that is now threatening globally.

"This means that the situational and current situation can be adjusted at any time, leveled up or adjusted and up to date. The point is that we must not miss the threat of the third wave and the global situation, especially for Nataru, which continues and continues to be tightened and massive tightening in all regions," he explained.

Rahmad asked the government to continue to improve the achievements of the vaccination program in order to create herd immunity.

"Even though it is said that our immunity has increased, it does not mean that we are free and assume that COVID-19 does not exist. However, COVID-19 is still a danger, COVID-19 is still a threat. Therefore, do not be complacent with the condition of our increased immunity. As a reflection of Europe, a wave of It's big at this time when the valsination is higher than Indonesia," he explained.

Rahmad also asked the public not to be euphoric and remain vigilant by not forcing out of town for holidays and visiting distant family during the Christmas and New Year holidays.

"Remember that many parties have conveyed the Nataru holiday to be a threat to the third wave of COVID-19 and this must be the duty of all of us to anticipate. For economic and tourism centers to continue to pay attention to the provisions according to their respective levels and not be euphoric and careless by opening in beyond capacity and continue to strictly implement health protocols," said Rahmad Handoyo.
