Inaugurated Tebelian Airport In Sintang, Jokowi: This Airport Is Very Important
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) inaugurated Tebelian Airport in Sintang Regency, West Kalimantan.
"Alhamdulillah, we praise and thank Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala, Tebelian Airport has been completed and can be used," said President Jokowi at Tebelian Airport, West Kalimantan, as reported by Antara, Wednesday, December 8.
President Jokowi said that Tebilian Airport would be able to serve 75.000 passengers per year. The construction of the airport spent a total budget of IDR 518 billion.
"This airport is very important to serve the increasing need for air transportation for the community and to serve the increasingly busy flow of people," added President Jokowi.
According to the President, in an era of increasingly fierce competition between countries, Indonesia must move faster, therefore smooth connectivity is key.
"And we must be able to make inter-provincial, inter-regional, inter-district connectivity easier and smoother, affordable by the community so that new economic centers will grow more and more in various regions," said President Jokowi.

Tebelian Airport in Sintang was built since 2011 and will continue to be developed until 2020.
The airport was built to replace the current airport, namely Susilo Airport, which can no longer be developed because it is located in the city center and surrounded by residential areas.
The development of Tebelian Airport is carried out on an area of approximately 153.6 hectares which has been granted by the Sintang Regency Government (Pemkab) to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Transportation.
Tebelian Airport currently has a passenger terminal covering an area of 2.000 square meters capable of serving 75 thousand passengers per year.
The airport runway is 1.820 meters long and wide 30 meters so that it can accommodate ATR-72/600 type aircraft, 160 meters x 18 meters taxiway and 220 meters x 60 meters apron which can accommodate 4 ATR-72 aircraft.
Tebelian Airport and Pangsuma Airport are two of the four airports in West Kalimantan that are managed by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation of the Ministry of Transportation.
