Screamed By The Thief, This Foreigner Is Hiding In The Gutter

JAKARTA - Residents around Jalan Lodan Raya, Pademangan, North Jakarta, were furious at the behavior of foreign nationals (WNA) who fled when immigration officers conducted a raid at the Ancol Apartment, North Jakarta.

While fleeing, the foreigner was shouted at by local residents. Luckily, thanks to the alertness of the officers, the man in red was beaten.

"Thief! A thief! That's a cell phone thief," shouted several residents who tried to chase the foreigner, Tuesday, December 7th.

The foreigner ran to Jalan Lodan Raya and jumped over the fence to a vacant lot in the Ancol Bowling area.

Dozens of residents who tried to chase the foreigners were furious. The foreigner almost felt a raw bogey before he was finally secured to the Bintang Mas Police Post.

North Jakarta Immigration Office officer Rizki Febrianda said the foreigner did not actually steal, but tried to run away when his party conducted a raid at the Aston Apartment.

"When we arrived, he ran. Not yet directed to his unit, still in the lobby he immediately ran," said Rizki.

Officers tried to chase the man. Meanwhile, residents of Jalan Lodan Raya, who knew there was a chase, tried to help the officers while shouting thieves.

After searching for some time, the foreigner whose identity was hidden was actually hiding in a ditch.

The big man, wearing a singlet and shorts, was seen crouching in the gutter hoping no one would see him. However, after several minutes of searching, the person was finally found.

The foreigners were then taken to the Bintang Mas Polantas Post to be taken to the North Jakarta Immigration Office.
