Police Arrest 200 Chicken Thief In Tangerang, Losses Reaches IDR 7 Million
JAKARTA - The Balaraja Police, Tangerang Police, Banten Police, arrested a man with the initials MR (33) from Pontang, Serang Regency.
MR was arrested for reportedly stealing 200 boiler chickens in the stall belonging to the victim Apipudin, Sunday, December 5 at around 02.00 WIB, in Gembong Village, Balaraja District, Tangerang Regency.
Balaraja Police Chief Kompol Gede Prasetia Adi Sasmita explained that the arrest of MR was based on a police report made by Apipudin at the Balaraja Polsek, Tangerang City Police.
"The perpetrator was arrested directly by members of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Balaraja Police in less than 6 hours," said Gede when contacted, Tuesday, December 7.
Initially, continued Gede, the victim came to his stall, and saw that the lock and the door to the stall were already open. The victim was shocked when he saw that 8 baskets containing 200 chickens worth Rp. 7,664,480, were gone. The victim immediately reported to the Balaraja Police.
Based on the report, the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Balaraja Police immediately conducted a sweep and search for the perpetrators of the theft, and managed to arrest the perpetrators in the village of Sentul, Balaraja District.
"For his actions, MR has been charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code concerning theft with Weights," concluded Gede.
