REJANG LEBONG - Perum Bulog Rejang Lebong Branch which oversees three districts in Bengkulu Province ensures that rice stocks for the next 6 months are safe. Currently, the stock of rice in the warehouse reaches 695.3 tons.

Head of Bulog Rejang Lebong Branch Office, Guslindawati, said the stock of 695.3 tons of rice in the Rejang Lebong Bulog warehouse consisted of 632.3 tons of PSO rice or for public services and 63 tons of commercial rice.

"The current stock of rice controlled by Bulog Rejang Lebong is 695.3 tons. The existing rice stock is estimated to meet the needs of the community in 3 districts for the next 6 months," he said when contacted at Rejang Lebong, Antara, Tuesday, December 7.

With the existing stock, he said, the community within the Rejang Lebong Bulog working area covering Rejang Lebong, Kepahiang and Lebong Regencies need not worry because the stock is sufficient and if it starts to decrease, additional requests will immediately be made.

According to him, the PSO rice stock owned by Bulog Rejang Lebong is medium quality rice which is the government's rice reserve (CBP) which is used to meet needs during emergencies, social assistance programs, post-disaster food insecurity and for price stability.

Meanwhile, commercial rice is premium quality rice which is sold to the general public in 5 kg and 10 kg sizes.

Meanwhile, Bulog Rejang Lebong currently has 1540 kg of flour and 569 kg of sugar. Then for frozen buffalo meat, 4,000 kg is still in delivery.

"For cooking oil, the stock is still empty, because the selling price is still high. For granulated sugar, the price is still stable," he explained.
