The Congregation Of Churches In DKI That Can Come Is Pegged At 50 Percent During Christmas Worship

JAKARTA - The DKI Provincial Government has adjusted the rules for the capacity for Christmas worship in churches by 50 percent when implementing the Level 3 Community Activity Restrictions (PPKM) at the end of the year.

The DKI Provincial Government applies PPKM Level 3 for 10 days starting from December 24, 2021 to January 2, 2022.

The decision is contained in the Decree of the Governor (Kepgub) of DKI Jakarta Number 1430 of 2021 concerning PPKM Level 3.

"Can hold congregational worship/religious activities during the implementation of PPKM Level 3 with a maximum of 50 percent capacity or 50 people by implementing more stringent health protocols," reads the provisions in the gubernatorial decree quoted in Jakarta, Tuesday, December 7.

In the next point, it is stated that worship activities at the church during Christmas 2021 will be carried out with provisions in the church and online.

Then, it is mandatory to use the PeduliLindung application to carry out screening (screening) when entering and leaving the church.

An increase in the PPKM level is implemented to suppress the transmission of COVID-19 during Christmas and New Year's Eve 2022. The DKI Provincial Government assesses that the holiday momentum is usually followed by an increase in the number of positive COVID-19 cases, so preventive steps must be taken, one of which is by restricting community activities more tightly.
