Governor Anies' Office Has Plans To Relocate Rob Affected Residents To Flats

JAKARTA - Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta Ahmad Riza Patria revealed that there is a plan to relocate residents affected by coastal flooding or tidal flooding to flats (rusun) owned by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.

"This includes the nearest flats," said Riza when met at the Sunter Lake Hotel, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, Tuesday, December 7, quoted from Antara.

Rob struck settlements on the north coast of Jakarta since Friday (12/3) including the Muara Angke and Muara Baru (Penjaringan) areas, the Sunda Kelapa Harbor area, Marunda (Cilincing) and RW08 Ancol (Pademangan).

According to Riza, the residential plains in the coastal area of North Jakarta are very low, so that when the rainy season comes, the tides are added, causing tidal waves to occur in residential areas in coastal areas.

So far, the program from the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government regarding the handling of the tidal flood is the construction of the embankment carried out by the central government through the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government through the Water Resources Service.

"We are currently processing this, but it does require a lot of time and a lot of money. So, our contribution is very big to deal with tidal flooding through the program to build embankments," said Riza.
