5 Interesting Things From Korean Drama Moonshine, Yoo Seung Ho And Hyeri's New Project

JAKARTA - The sageuk-themed Korean drama is back. Titled Moonshine, this drama stars Yoo Seung Ho and Hyeri. The two compactly chose Moonshine as their new project.

Moonshine tells the story of the Joseon era, when there were many restrictions on society. Kang Ro Seo (Hyeri) has a conflict with Nam Young (Yoo Seung Ho). This conflict actually brought them closer and put their feelings for each other.

However, on the one hand they are afraid to start a romantic relationship because they both have different social and occupational statuses.

Hyeri will be playing Kang Ro Seo, a nobleman who struggles with making alcohol illegal for profit. He also doesn't care what people think of his job.

There is a reason why Ro Seo is in the illegal alcohol business because he has a debt of 100 nyang. In one teaser, Kang Ro Seo says, “Nobles without money are just dirt, and he is like that.”

On the other hand, there is Yoo Seung Ho who plays Nam Young, the greatest inspector of the Joseon era who is very disciplined. He doesn't hesitate to catch illegal alcohol makers even if they are people in need.

“I can't believe they sell alcohol even though the ban is so strict. They deserve to die," said Nam Young in the Moonshine teaser. But he doesn't know if he will meet Kang Ro Seo, the woman he falls in love with.

Besides Yoo Seung Ho and Hyeri, Moonshine is also played by Byun Woo Seok and Kang Mina. Byun Woo Seok stole the public's attention with his acting in the drama Record of Youth in 2020. Kang Mina, who is a former K-pop idol, has also starred in various dramas with a variety of genres.

Byun Woo Seok plays prince Lee Pyo, a person who likes Kang Ro Seo's alcohol. There is also Han Ae Jin, played by Kang Mina, a child of a noble family who likes Lee Pyo.

Moonshine is directed by Hwang In Hyuk, who has worked on Sungkyunkwan Scandal and Doctor Prisoner. The script was written by Kim Joo Hee who made this drama his first Korean drama project.
