Alert, BMKG Reminds Peak Of Bogor Rainy Season January-February 2022
JAKARTA - Head of the Climatology Data and Information Center Section of the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) Hadi Saputra, reminded that the peak of the rainy season in the Bogor area will occur in the period January - February 2022 with an average rainfall of 100 to 150 mm per day.
"Almost all areas in Bogor will experience moderate to heavy rain. For this reason, the government and the public must be prepared to anticipate hydrometeorological disasters," Hadi told reporters in Bogor, Tuesday.
According to Hadi Saputra, the Bogor area is basically a rainy area throughout the year. However, when entering December to March, the potential for rain in the Bogor area is quite high, above 100 mm per day.
However, the public is asked to always be aware of the possibility of a hydrometeorological disaster due to the potential peak of the rainy season in early 2022.
This warning for disaster alertness due to the potential for heavy rain, he said, applies to all residents in the Bogor area.
Separately, the Head of the BMKG Citeko Station, Fatuhri Syabani, said that the increasing rainfall in the Bogor area was influenced by the La Nina phenomenon.
Like the Puncak Bogor area, which has seen an increasing trend of rainfall since October 2021 and continues to increase until early December 2021.
This is because there are several phenomena of atmospheric dynamics around the territory of Indonesia, such as the presence of a low pressure center (cyclone) and an atmospheric phenomenon in the form of a cold cry from the Asian continent.
Public awareness also needs to be increased considering that disasters can lurk with an increase in the intensity of the rain that occurs.
"The increase in rainfall shows above average," he said.
