Tourists Leave Jayakarta Hotel Due To Floods In Senggigi Lombok

WEST LOMBOK - Tourists staying at the Jayakarta Hotel Lombok left their lodgings due to floods that hit the tourist area of Senggigi, West Lombok Regency, West Nusa Tenggara.

"All of the guests staying overnight have checked out," said General Manager of Hotel Jayakarta Lombok, Cherry Abdul Hakim, quoted by Antara, Monday, December 6.

He said that there were several rooms on the first floor which had water as high as five centimeters due to the severe flooding in front of the hotel.

"We are quite busy evacuating all the guests who checked out," said Cherry.

Meanwhile, Head of the Mataram Search and Rescue (SAR) Office Nanang Sigit PH said his party had succeeded in evacuating all hotel and villa tourists in the Senggigi tourist area, which were affected by the flood.

"All tourists trapped in the flood were evacuated safely and there are no more reports of requests for SAR assistance," he said.

Tourists who left their place of stay due to flooding only occurred at the Jayakarta Hotel Lombok because the inn was severely affected by the flood.

Meanwhile, other hotels in the Senggigi tourist area are still relatively safe from the effects of flooding, so guests choose to stay, such as at Aruna Senggigi Resort & Convention, and Holiday Resort Lombok.

"Guests are still carrying out activities and no one has canceled because of the current flood conditions," said General Manager of Aruna Senggigi Resort & Convention Weni Kristanti.

The General Manager of Holiday Resort Lombok Ketut Murtajaya Kusuma said the same thing. "There are no guests who check out at our hotel because of the flood," he said.
