The League 2 Title In Jabodetabek Is The Reason For PT LIB To Try To Bring Spectators To The Stadium
JAKARTA - PT Liga Indonesia Baru (LIB) has held discussions with the Kemenpora and PSSI regarding the plan to organize a competition with spectators present. From the meeting, it was found that the League 2 competition was chosen to conduct a trial of audience attendance.
Regarding the choice of League 2 as a testing ground, PT LIB has a strong reason. Mainly because Liga 2 is currently rolling in Jabodetabek.
"Why is League 2 not in League 1? Incidentally League 2 will be held in Jabodetabek. At least all elements of the government can see, assess, and evaluate," said Akhmad Hadian Lukita as President Director of PT LIB in a virtual press conference, Monday December 6th.
After holding a meeting, PSSI and PT LIB agreed to plan to hold a trial of spectator attendance in the big 8 game of Liga 2 2021/2022. Pakansari Stadium and Wibawa Mukti Stadium were chosen as the location for the trial which is scheduled to take place on 15 December.
If this trial is successful, it is likely that the 2021 Liga 1 competition can also be attended by spectators. Thus, Indonesia will follow in the footsteps of Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand, which have allowed supporters to enter the stadium.
"If this is successful then we will continue in the main competition (League 1)," said Akhmad.
Akhmad then said that the trial match with the supporters would later be the benchmark for the next matches. PT LIB will also use the trial as the implementation of operational standards in football matches in Indonesia.
"This trial is of course a benchmark in the future how we will apply SOPs in matches. The ongoing pandemic condition is a major consideration because public health remains the priority," he said.
"This directive from the Minister and the Government must continue to carry out strict health protocols. Where we will place several people who will maintain the flow of spectators when they come and go," said Akhmad.
