Man In Binjai Flushing Burning Incense, Angry Residents Threaten To Report Police

MEDAN - A man who was desperate to pour incense that was burning in the Gatot Mas complex, West Binjai District, Binjai City, North Sumatra, went viral on social media.

In the video, a man can be seen shooting the video pointing his camera at the man in shorts. The man in shorts was touted as a lit incense sprinkler.

"Well, this is the person who poured our incense to death as a religious believer. His name is Acun, without approval," said the video recorder who was seen on Monday, December 6.

In the video, the man in shorts also admits to his actions.

"That's right," he said.

Then the video recorder pointed his camera at the incense line. Seen, the incense sticks are extinguished.

"This is it, the incense is flushed to death even though it's only a few sticks. Mr. Acun, maybe we should report this blasphemy," said the video recorder again.

"Without his permission he watered 7-8 sticks of incense to death without our permission, we who have this religion," he continued.

In the video narration, it is explained that this is the first time someone has deliberately sprinkled the incense sticks installed on them.

"It's Che It's day to pray for the Buddhist ethnic Chinese. For hundreds of years of culture and tradition of burning large incense sticks, this is the first time someone has deliberately watered all the incense sticks that were installed without Tatung's approval and answered yes without regret. It's the same as blasphemy. Even though the perpetrators are also ethnic Chinese," the video narration reads.

Separately, the Head of the West Binjai Police, AKP Siswanto Ginting, when confirmed, confirmed the incident. The incident occurred on Saturday, December 4, at approximately 19.30 WIB.

AKP Siswanto said that until now his party had not received a report regarding this matter.

"Regarding this issue, we at the West Binjai Police have not received any reports of burning incense," said AKP Siswanto, confirmed by VOI, Monday, December 6.

From the information he received at the location, the incense sprinkler admitted that he had asked for permission to turn off the incense because his mother was seriously ill.

"The incense sprinkler admitted that he had asked permission for the incense to be turned off because his mother was seriously ill. He felt the incense smoke entering his room. Because the pagoda ignored it, the sprinkler took a water hose to turn it off," he explained.

AKP Siswanto explained that he had tried mediation at the time of the incident.

"I was at the TKP at the time, with the sub-district head and we plan to mediate at the sub-district office. However, one party is more likely to take legal action. Maybe they report it to the police or the regional police," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Public Relations Subdivision of the Binjai Police, Iptu Junaidi when confirmed, said that he had not received the information.

"Until now it has not reached me," said Iptu Junaidi.
