Safe Refugee Food Stock, Khofifah: 2,500 Breakfast, Lunch And Dinner Packages Per Day
LUMAJANG - The Governor of East Java, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, has ensured that the availability of food and logistics for the refugees affected by the Mount Semeru disaster is under control.
Khofifah conveyed this certainty when monitoring public kitchens located in Pronojiwo and Candipuro Districts, Lumajang Regency.
"God willing, I will make sure the public kitchen is safe for the needs of the refugees. In a day, I can prepare 2,500 breakfast, lunch and dinner packages," said Khofifah, in Lumajang, Monday, December 6.
In addition to public kitchens, Khofifah said the East Java Provincial Government has also established two health post points, in two sub-districts, namely Pronojiwo District and Candipuro District.
Meanwhile, regarding trauma healing for the refugees, the East Java Provincial Government also mobilized a team tasked with assisting refugees to reduce the trauma caused by the eruption of Mount Semeru.
"All of our trauma healing teams have been specially mobilized to assist mothers, children, people with disabilities and the elderly. They fall into the vulnerable category," he said.
Asked about the physical damage to public facilities and houses caused by hot clouds, Khofifah said the East Java Provincial Government together with the Lumajang Regency Government and BNPB were conducting data collection and categorization.
This data is used as a reference in determining reconstruction steps, including the amount of assistance received by victims of the eruption of Mount Semeru.
"Material losses and other impacts from the Gunung Semeru APG are still being collected," he said.
Khofifah said that she deliberately had an office in Lumajang Regency to ensure that the consolidation of the handling and coordination of search, rescue, evacuation and handling of refugees was effective and nothing was missed. Likewise, all basic needs of residents including food, drink, clothing, and medicines are available.
Khofifah claimed to have monitored the situation in Lumajang Regency, which was affected by Mount Semeru, by using a helicopter with the Regent of Lumajang Thoriqul Haq. Khofifah also saw firsthand the broken condition of the Gladak Perak bridge, which connects Pronojiwo and Candipuro due to the Mount Semeru APG.
Based on the results of a joint meeting with BNPB and the Lumajang Regency Government, it was decided that the Main Command Post was located in the Lumajang Regency Hall, while the Pasirian sub-district was the field post.
All information data in the form of map images, disaster data, photos of incident locations and others are placed and displayed in Pasirian District as Field Command Posts.
"This command post will be commanded by the Commander of the Semeru Eruption Disaster Management Task Force, namely Danrem 083/BDJ," he said.
