Bangka Regent Stops Additional Income Incentives For ASN Who Don't Want Vaccines

JAKARTA - Bangka Regent, Bangka Belitung Islands Province, Mulkan said he would stop paying additional employee income (TPP) to state civil servants (ASN) in his area who do not want to be vaccinated.

"We will impose sanctions to stop the payment of TPP rights for two consecutive months for ASN who are not willing to be vaccinated," he said in Sungailiat, Monday, December 6.

Meanwhile, for honorary workers who do not want to be vaccinated, Mulkan said, his party will not extend their work contract again. This decisive action had to be taken as an effort to accelerate the realization of 70 percent of vaccinations by the end of 2021.

"Sanctions do not apply to ASN or honorary workers who were not vaccinated on the grounds of illness, supported by a medical certificate or doctor's certificate," Mulkan explained.

The firm sanction, said Mulkan, had to be carried out because it was suspected that there were still many ASN and honorary workers who had not yet been willing to be vaccinated for certain reasons.

"Before it is emphasized that people in the age group are required to be vaccinated so that they are willing to be vaccinated, first ASN and local government personnel must set an example for the community," he explained.

Based on data on the development of vaccination services in Bangka Regency to date, the first dose of vaccine is 160,935 or 63.07 percent of the total 255,161 targets, and the second vaccine is 132,906 people or 52.09 percent.

Mulkan admits that the achievement of vaccine coverage realization in his area is still low compared to regencies or cities in the Province of the Bangka Belitung Islands.

Compared to the City of Surabaya with a target of millions of targets, it has exceeded the target set by the government, while Bangka Regency only has 255,161 targets so far it has not reached 70 percent.
