Basarnas Surabaya: 17 People Died Due To The Eruption Of Mount Semeru
LUMAJANG - The number of victims who died after the eruption of Mount Semeru in Lumajang Regency, East Java, continues to grow. Basarnas Surabaya recorded 17 victims died, from the previous 15 people.
"A total of 12 people were found dead at the disaster site and have been evacuated. While the remaining five victims died in the hospital," said the head of the operations and standby section of the Surabaya Basarnas, I Wayan Suyatna, confirmed on Monday, December 6.
Basarnas also noted that 27 victims were still missing. However, checking and validation of data continues to be carried out to ensure the status of the victim.
"Meanwhile, 69 injured people who were previously treated at the hospital have returned to their respective homes," he said.
Wayan said a joint team consisting of TNI/Polri, SAR, BPBD, and others is currently still searching for disaster victims. In fact, there are five of the many elements deployed to the four sectors.
"The five teams were divided into four sectors, one team was deployed to Kobokan Curah Village, one team team to Kajar Kuning Village, one team to Kebon Deli Village, and two teams focused on Sand Mining," he said.
Until the third day, joint officers continued to carry out search and rescue operations, on the possibility of residents who were victims of the hot clouds falling from Mount Semeru in Lumajang Regency.
The following is the total data on the victims or affected, namely 5,205 people affected, 27 missing and 17 people dead. Meanwhile, the number of displaced residents amounted to 1,707 people spread over 19 points.
