Dismissed By Erick Thohir And Replaced By Darmawan Prasodjo As Director Of PLN, Zulkifli Zaini: Thank You For The Trust, BUMN With Assets Of Rp. 1,600 Trillion
JAKARTA - Zulkifli Zaini expressed his gratitude for the support that has been given to all parties during his tenure as President Director of PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (Persero) or PLN. The decision to terminate was taken at the 2021 PLN General Meeting of Shareholders.
In the 2021 GMS, the shareholders will replace Zulkifli Zaini with Darmawan Prasodjo as the new President Director of PLN. The decision letter to replace Zulkifli Zaini was delivered by the Minister of SOEs Erick Thohir at the PLN Head Office and is effective from December 6, 2021.
"Thank you for trusting me to become President Director of PLN, a BUMN with assets of Rp. 1,600 trillion. The support from the Minister and Deputy Minister of BUMN, the Board of Commissioners, and other stakeholders is extraordinary to overcome the challenges of lighting the country from Sabang to Merauke, from Miangas to Pulau Rote," said Zulkifli in a written statement, Monday, December 6.
In addition, Zulkifli is also grateful for the support of the minister and deputy minister of BUMN, the board of commissioners and other stakeholders to overcome the challenges of lighting up Indonesia.
On the same occasion, Erick said that Zulkifli, who previously served as President Director of PLN since December 2019, has led a company that serves the needs of all Indonesian people with heart and sincerity.
"The mandate in managing PLN to survive and continue to serve, as well as ease the burden on the poor and underprivileged during the COVID-19 pandemic, shows that he understands the commitment he has made," said Erick.
In the span of two years, said Erick, PLN has improved its financial performance and managed to record operating revenues of Rp. 345.4 trillion and reached a net profit of Rp. 5.99 trillion in 2020. This profit rose 39.3 percent compared to 2019. PLN also succeeded reduce the total debt ratio to Rp452.4 trillion
Erick added that under Zulkifli's leadership, transformative efforts were also carried out in parallel as one of the guards in the National Economic Recovery Program during the COVID-19 pandemic. PLN's contribution through Electricity Discounts with a target recipient of 31.4 million households in 2020 and 32.6 million households in 2021, has helped maintain economic and social stability in the community.
"I thank you profusely for the commitments that have been given so far. I believe the best track record that has been inscribed will become a legacy and foundation for the next leader," said Erick.
