Rais Aam: Big NU Conference Ahead Of The Congress Held December 7
JAKARTA - Rais Aam PBNU KH Miftachul Ahyar said the NU Grand Conference (Konbes) to ensure the schedule for the congress would be held on December 7.
According to him, the NU Konbes was held in response to the request of the majority of the NU Regional Management (PWNU) who asked the Konbes to be held to ensure the schedule for the congress.
"I received letters of proposals and requests from Konbes from a number of PWNUs, so far there have been 22 PWNUs (out of a total of 32 active PWNUs)," said KH Miftachul Ahyar as quoted by Antara from a press release, Monday, December 6.
The request for Konbes from the majority of PWNU has also been directly conveyed by KH Miftachul Ahyar to the General Chair of PBNU KH Said Aqil Siroj in a meeting with KH Mustofa Bisri (Gus Mus) at the Asshodiqiyah Islamic Boarding School, Gayamsari, Semarang, Central Java, Sunday, December 5.
"I have invited the General Chairperson to fulfill the request, but there was no response," said KH Miftachul Ahyar.
The caretaker of the Miftachussunnah Islamic Boarding School, Surabaya, finally asked the PBNU Katib Aam to repeat the invitation to hold a Konbes from the majority of PWNU to the General Chair of PBNU.
However, the invitation from PBNU's Katib Aam was also not responded to, even though in an uncertain situation, the voice of the majority of PWNU throughout Indonesia should be heard.
"So I hereby decided to take over the initiative to organize the Konbes and I invite the heads of Tanfidziyah PWNU throughout Indonesia to be present in Jakarta tomorrow, Tuesday, December 7, 2021, to join the Konbes," said KH Miftachul Ahyar.
In NU's AD/ART it is stated that 2/3 PWNU in Indonesia can propose holding a NU Grand Conference to decide on strategic organizational issues, including deciding the schedule for the congress.
The number of PWNUs throughout Indonesia is 34 with 32 active PWNUs (2 PWNUs have their decrees dead). Thus, if there are currently 22 PWNUs who want to hold a Konbes, then PBNU must hold a Konbes with PWNU participants.
