BMKG Weather Forecast: Heavy Rain With Winds Expected To Cover Most Provinces
JAKARTA - The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) issued an early warning regarding the potential for heavy rain that could be accompanied by lightning and strong winds in most provinces in Indonesia on Monday, December 6.
According to an alert from Antara, Monday, December 6, according to the weather forecast broadcast by the BMKG, the provinces of Aceh, Bangka Belitung, Bengkulu, Riau, Lampung, West Sumatra, South Sumatra, Banten, DKI Jakarta, West Java, and East Java are facing the potential for rain, accompanied by lightning and strong winds.
Heavy rain and strong winds are also forecasted to cover parts of the provinces of Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, West Kalimantan, South Kalimantan, Central Kalimantan, East Kalimantan, North Kalimantan, South Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, Southeast Sulawesi, North Sulawesi, Gorontalo, Maluku and West Papua.
Residents living in areas that are predicted to experience heavy rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds should be aware of the possibility of hydrometeorological disasters such as floods and landslides.

The BMKG stated that increasing the potential for rain cloud growth around the low-pressure center area or cyclonic circulation and along with the convergence area increases the chance of heavy rain in parts of Indonesia.
According to BMKG, the center of low pressure is observed in the Indian Ocean southwest of Lampung and forms a convergence area that extends from the Indian Ocean south of Banten to the southwest of Lampung.
In addition, the cyclonic circulation in the north of the island of Borneo forms a convergence area that extends from the South China Sea to the eastern Natuna Sea and from the north of the island of Borneo to the South China Sea.
The convergence area was also observed extending in the waters of the Bangka Belitung Islands to the southern waters of Central Kalimantan, from the Sumbawa Sea to the southern part of Southeast Sulawesi, from the western part of the Sulawesi Sea to the northern part of the Maluku Sea, and from the northern part of the Banda Sea to the waters of the Aru Islands.
