Frequency Band Permit Revoked Kemenkominfo, Net1 Indonesia: We Consider Impact On Customers
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo) has terminated access or revoked the license for the 450 MHz radio frequency band to PT Net Satu Indonesia (Net1 Indonesia) recently.
In response to this, Net1 Indonesia will examine more deeply the decision of the Ministry of Communication and Information, and admit that it often communicates with regulators.
"In this case (we are in intense communication with) the Ministry of Communication and Information and BPKP. Net1 Indonesia will review the decision of the Ministry of Communication and Information and consult internally with relevant stakeholders for the next steps," said Senior Advisor for Net1 Indonesia, Rudi Matrinez, in a statement received by VOI. , Friday, December 3rd.
Rudi said that the next steps taken by Net1 Indonesia's management regarding this issue would also "consider the impact on our customers, business partners and vendors," he said.
Spokesperson for the Ministry of Communication and Information, Dedy Permadi, said that the revocation of the frequency band license was a form of administrative sanction imposed on Net1 Indonesia because until now it had not paid the bill for the Usage Rights Fee (BHP).
"This is a sanction in which PT Net Satu Indonesia has not paid the bill for the Right to Use (BHP) for Radio Frequency Band Permits for 2019 and 2020 until the specified time limit," said Dedy recently.
Dedy explained that the revocation of the permit was contained in the Decree of the Minister of Communication and Information Number 517 of 2021 concerning the revocation of a Radio Frequency Band License in the Range of 450 to 457.5 MHz in pairs with 460 to 467.5 MHz for the Operation of the PT Net Satu Indonesia Cellular Mobile Network.
As a follow-up, said Dedy, the revocation of the radio frequency band license, PT Net Satu Indonesia with Net1 Indonesia internet service is required to settle the company's obligations to its customers no later than one month from the date of the revocation of the Radio Frequency Band License.
"This will take the form of, among others, providing compensation, transferring services to other operators, and settling the rights of other PT Net Satu Indonesia customers," said Dedy.
In addition, PT Net Satu Indonesia is required to pay off the 2019 and 2020 Radio Frequency Band License BHP receivables to the state in the form of principal and late fees with a total amount of IDR 477,259,733,440.
