Number Of Day Two Odd-Even Offenders Decreased By 20 Percent
JAKARTA - Hundreds of motorists still violate the odd-even policy on the second day of action. However, the number is claimed to have decreased by 20 percent when compared to the first day with 1,062 violators.
"The second day yesterday there was a decrease of 20 percent, the figure was 847 (vehicles)," said Dirlantas Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Sambodo Purnomo Yogo to reporters, Wednesday, August 12.
The large number of violators on the second day, said Sambodo, was because there were still people who did not know the location of the odd-even application. So, the officers who are spread across dozens of odd-even application points will appeal to the drivers massively.
"Many residents have committed odd-even violations, especially on several roads which according to them there are several roads that they do not know (are enforced) are odd-even. For example, Jalan Gunung Sahari and so on," he said.
On the other hand, the implementation of the odd-even policy has a good impact on reducing vehicle density in Jakarta by 42 percent. Especially at busy times in the morning and evening.
"What really feels like is Jalan Sudirman Thamrin, a protocol road. Usually to the Hi Roundabout from Dukuh Atas it starts to get stuck at 7 o'clock, with the odd-even situation the traffic is more quiet," said Sambodo.
