JAKARTA - The Banten Police uncovered a criminal act of trafficking in persons (TPPO) with the mode of a nasty massage parlor in the Citra Raya Ruko area, Tangerang. From the TIP disclosure, the police named three suspects with different roles. Two of them are husband and wife (couple).

"While TF is an employee at the place of business whose role is to find guests and connect with therapists (massages). TF also gets a commission from each guest served," said AKBP Shinto.

The raid began with information from the public to the Ditreskrimum Polda Banten. Ditreskrimum investigators then made observations and a series of investigations.

After finding the suitability of the information with the facts on the ground, the officers immediately carried out raids.

In their action, the business manager is looking for profit from a female therapist with the motive of asking for a room fee of Rp. 100,000 per hour. While guests are charged a service fee by the therapist worth IDR 500 thousand.

The therapists were smuggled in from outside Banten Province. Women victims of TIP are on average 18-30 years old.

"The therapists come from outside the province of Banten," he said.

From the results of the raid, the police confiscated condoms, used tissue, bed sheets, customer register books, financial records and massage oil.

"For their actions, the three suspects were charged with Article 2 or Article 10 of Law No. 21 of 2007 concerning the Eradication of the Crime of Trafficking in Persons (TPPO) with a maximum threat of 15 years in prison," said Shinto.
