Police Headquarters Does Not Tolerate Case Of Selayar Police Reskrim Abuse 3 Policewomen

JAKARTA - The Head of Police Public Relations Division, Inspector General Argo Yuwono, emphasized that the Police would not tolerate it if the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Selayar Police, Iptu AM, was proven to have verbally abused 3 female police officers (Polwan).

"Of course we will prove it in the examination later on the actions committed by the person concerned, if it is proven that we (the Police) will not tolerate it," said Argo in a written statement received in Jakarta, Wednesday.

Argo said that currently the person concerned was undergoing an intensive examination by the South Sulawesi Police Propam.

"It has been checked for propam and has been temporarily deactivated," he said.

Previously, the Head of Public Relations of the South Sulawesi Regional Police, Kombes Ibrahim Tompo, said that Iptu AM was suspected of having spoken obscene words against three policewomen while carrying out their duties within the Selayar Islands Police.

Regarding the alleged immoral acts committed by Iptu AM, the person concerned was removed from his position to undergo further examination.

Separately, the Selayar Police Chief AKBP Temmangnganro Machmud said that his party was seeking a mediation path between the reporter who felt harassed and the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Selayar Police.

"While we are still investigating it and we will mediate because this is our family that we also have to protect and give advice," he said.
