No Fire Spread In Cyber Building, Only Smoke On 2nd Floor, South Jakarta Fire Department: Allegedly Due To Short Circuit
JAKARTA - Officers from the South Jakarta Fire and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Sub-department (Sudin) suspect that the fire on the second floor of the Cyber Mampang Building was caused by an electrical short circuit (short circuit).
"It is suspected that it was due to a short circuit. There was no fire spreading, only smoke on the second floor," said Head of South Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. Herbert Plider of Gaol Competition at the fire site, Thursday, December 2.
Initially, it was suspected that the short circuit occurred from the server room, causing a thick cloud of smoke to emerge. Employees inside the building panicked and immediately ran out of the building because they saw the smoke.
Officers came to the location at around 12.41 WIB and immediately extinguished the fire on the second floor.
The death toll due to a fire in Cyber 1 Building has increased to 2 people. Both are visitors. The victims who died were Seto (18) and Redzuan (17). They are technicians who are visiting the Cyber 1 building.
One more victim was declared safe and is still under medical treatment.
Currently, the process of extinguishing the fire at the site has been declared complete. Several firefighters fixed some pump equipment after extinguishing the fire.
Right below the lobby of the building, there are Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) officers with ambulances.
