Ridwan Kamil Ready To Run For Presidential Election: If A Political Party Needs A Figure With Fair Electability, Yes, I'm Bismillah

YOGYAKARTA - West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil, assesses his electability is decent if there are political parties interested in carrying him forward in the 2024 presidential election contestation.

"If there is a party that feels it needs a figure with decent electability, maybe my figure will be counted, yes, I'm bismillah," he said, at the "Fisipol Leadership Forum: Road to 2024" event at Fisipol, Gadjah Mada University (UGM), Yogyakarta, quoted by Antara. , Thursday, December 2nd.

According to him, electability and preference are the only assets he has besides two other conditions that must be met to advance as Indonesia's leader, namely logistics and supporting political parties.

"I don't have the last two. Where do I have trillions of money, I don't have a party. What I have is only the number one asset, namely electability and preference," he said.

Ridwan Kamil admitted that he was ready to join a political party in 2022 because it was not possible to advance through an independent path in the upcoming 2024 presidential election, and he confirmed that he would anchor to the political party he considered the most Pancasilais.

"I have decided that next year I will enter a political party. Which color, whether the color of this tablecloth (yellow), whether the color of the security guard's clothes, or the color of the red hijab, I do not know. But for sure the most Pancasilais, I will be there," continued Kang Emil.

The values contained in the Pancasila ideology, for him, are the main foundation in politics.

This foundation, according to him, is also in line with the political principle of the middle way which he will continue to apply so as to be able to embrace all circles.

"In my opinion, Pancasila is a fixed price. It can't be too far to the left, it can't be too right, I choose the middle way of politics. Sometimes I'm also bullied by those on the right, sometimes the same as those on the left for taking position in the middle," said the politician with an architect background.

Kang Emil said he would open himself up if someone asked him if he was willing to be nominated in the 2024 presidential election.

"If, for example, you are asked if you want to turn it on, of course I will open the door because I can't open the lock, it's not me who opened the lock. I'm ready when the door is opened and welcome," he said.

By implementing a self-aware policy, he admits that he doesn't care if in the end there are no political parties that will carry him for the 2024 presidential election.

"Politics knows yourself, you have to know yourself. Who you are, the party is not sure, if not, you have to accept it. So if it turns out that there is no party that carries it, the most realistic thing in my political menu is to continue with the second volume of governor," he said.
