Judges Reprimand Judge Nia Ramadhani And Ardiansyah Bakrie To Attend Drug Case Trial Late
JAKARTA - The panel of judges at the Central Jakarta District Court (PN Jakpus) warned the accused husband and wife, Nia Ramadhani and Ardiansyah Bakrie, for being late in attending the first trial. The trial was scheduled to take place at 10.00 WIB this morning.
"The defendants, I warn the three of you that everything should be consulted with your legal team, do not consult other parties," said Chief Justice Muhammad Damis at the Central Jakarta District Court, Thursday, December 2.
"I ask for the help of the three brothers so that they don't get influenced by anyone who will take care of your case," he said.
Muhammad Damis also asked for accountability from the Public Prosecutor (JPU) regarding the postponement of the trial schedule which was originally scheduled to be held at 10.00 WIB.
"The panel of judges set the trial at 10.00 WIB. At that hour the panel of judges was ready to convene, but the information on the defendant was not here," he said.
For this reason, continued Damis, his party asked the public prosecutor to be responsible for the delay so that the trial only started at 12.30 WIB.
"What is the reason that we can only hold the trial at this hour?" asked the Chief Judge to the Public Prosecutor.
In response to this, one of the Public Prosecutors also apologized because the trial time was delayed from the original schedule.
"We, the public prosecutor, apologize for the information this morning from legal counsel, the defendant is not well, such as diarrhea. So, a team of doctors was sent to examine the defendants and then the doctor's recommendation was for a trial, so the trial was a bit late because it was waiting for a doctor's examination," said the prosecutor. .
Muhammad Damis also asked that in the future the prosecutor will coordinate with the clerk if there is a shift in the time of the trial.
Furthermore, the Judge also warned that the three defendants and their legal advisors should not consult and be influenced by other parties who promise to help in the case.
"Yes, please coordinate with the clerk of this case, if there is a shift in the time of the trial. We will also inform the public prosecutor, if there are obstacles from the side of the panel of judges," said the panel of judges.
