There Is An Opportunity For Mbappe To Enter The PSG Squad Against Atalanta

JAKARTA - Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe - who previously suffered from an injury - has the opportunity to be included in Thomas Tuchel's squad in the match against Atalanta in the Champions League quarter-final at the Da Luz Stadium, Lisbon, Portugal, Thursday, 13 August.

Mbappe previously suffered an injury while defending PSG in the French Cup final against AS Saint-Etienne two weeks ago. He then missed when Le Parisien appeared in the French League Cup final against Olympique Lyon.

Nevertheless, the hunting talent of the European elite team is still part of the PSG squad which left for Lisbon and is scheduled to undergo a training session with his colleagues on Tuesday local time.

"If Kylian had a good training session today, he will be in the squad for Wednesday," Tuchel said at a pre-match press conference reported by Antara, Wednesday.

Apart from Mbappe, Tuchel also said Marco Verratti had shown a good sign after being able to return to running with his colleagues after suffering an injury in a training session last week.

But in the case of Verratti, the former Borussia Dortmund coach, he said his team had to be more patient.

Commenting on his opponent, Tuchel mentioned Atalanta as a team that has qualified physical strength with a unique game character that can place seven players in the opponent's field when attacking.

Despite realizing that fighting Atalanta will be difficult, Tuchel is quite optimistic that he can achieve good results if his players can translate the enthusiasm in the training session into the match later.

"There is always the possibility of creating space and we have to do well. It will be a tactical battle, but also a battle in the head," he said.

"We have to be able to appear as excited as during the training sessions in the last few days, a combination of concentration, good atmosphere and competition between the players," said Tuchel.

PSG has the opportunity to match their best score in the Champions League, namely the semi-finals if they beat Atalanta.

If that happens they will face RB Leipzig or Atletico Madrid who meet in another quarter-final match the day before.
