Report The Chief Of Police! NTB Police Need 5 Times Land Security Personnel, Sea Air In MotoGP Mandalika

NTB - NTB Police Chief Inspector General Mohammad Iqbal revealed that securing the 2022 MotoGP event at the Mandalika Circuit requires 5 times the strength of the 2021 Asia Talent Cup (ATC) and World Superbike (WSBK) racing events which took place last November.

"Because there will be 10 times as many visitors in attendance, therefore, I will report to the National Police Chief that NTB needs 5 times additional strength for security backups," said Iqbal, who was met during the celebration of the 71st Anniversary of the Polairud Corps in Mataram, Antara. , Wednesday, December 1st.

Additional strength, he explained, prioritizes water and air areas. The consideration is seen from the estimated visits of large-scale ships that will dock.

Iqbal explained that the purpose of adding security forces is not only preventing crime and maintaining security, but also helping visitors, racers, teams and organizers to access the circuit location easily.

Regarding the current readiness to support field work, the Director of Polairud Polda NTB Kombes Kobul Syahrin Ritonga revealed that he was in command of 146 personnel.

For facilities in the field that currently exist, in the form of 4 units of type C2 police ships and 6 units of police ships of type C3. Both types of police boats are included in the fast hunting power capacity.

"In addition to ships of type C3 and C2, we were also given additional high-speed ships of the RIB For Intercept and Equipment type. This year we were given 2 units. There is also Ship Tender, 3 units," said Kobul.

In 2021, he continued, the Ditpolairud Polda NTB also received a lot of special material tools (almatsus) to support the capabilities of personnel in handling the seabed.

The Almatsus is high-tech. One of them works with a robotics-based system. Almatsus is able to go into the water up to 300 meters. The robot equipped with this camera is called a "Remotely Operated Underwater Vehicle" (ROUV).

"So this tool can detect and monitor under the sea. The system works with remote control," he said.

There are also similar tools but their functions are different, namely to evacuate drowning victims. The capacity, he said, was two people. Its remote control radius can be up to 300 meters.

"This tool is like a buoy, but uses a remote control. If you used to use throwing ropes, this is no longer necessary," said Kobul.

There is also a way to evacuate victims who are in the water. The tool is called an underwater scooter." This tool is equipped with full face diving facilities.

"With the diving equipment, divers can communicate with other divers, no need to use codes, but directly communicate with underwater divers and ship operators," he said.

Of these various work support facilities, Kobul assures that its members have mastered and even trained in its operation.

"This year, 20 of our personnel have been summoned to Jakarta to participate in capacity building. When they return, they also pass on training knowledge to all other personnel," he said.
