Jokowi Wants Indonesia's Presidency At G20 Not To Be Ceremonial, But Real Action
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) wants Indonesia's Presidency or Chairmanship at the G20 in 2022 not only to be ceremonial.
President Jokowi through a video that was shown during the "G20 Indonesia Presidency 2022 Opening Ceremony" which was witnessed virtually, stated that he wanted the Indonesian Presidency at the G20 not to be merely ceremonial.
"Indonesia encourages G20 countries to take concrete actions," said President Jokowi, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, December 1.
President Jokowi said that Indonesia would continue to encourage countries in the G20 to produce major breakthroughs. Indonesia will also continue to encourage G20 countries to build collaborations and build strength to ensure that the world community can feel the positive impact of the existing cooperation.
President Jokowi also expressed his trust and honor for Indonesia to receive the G20 Presidency.
"This belief is an opportunity for Indonesia to contribute more to the world's economic recovery. To build a healthier, more just and sustainable world governance, based on independence, lasting peace and social justice. For this reason, at the G20 Presidency, Indonesia carries the theme ' Recover Together, Recover Stranger'," said President Jokowi.
The G20 Summit will take place in Bali, Indonesia, in 2022. President Joko Widodo welcomes all the delegations of world leaders from the G20 members with open arms.
"We will welcome all of you with joy and open arms, welcome to Indonesia," said President Jokowi.
