In Papua, TNI Commander General Andika Reveals The Number Of Kodim Is Less

JAYAPURA - The TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa admitted that the number of military district commandos (kodim) in Papua is still lacking because on average one Korem oversees 10 Kodim.

General Andika said, in Papua currently one Korem only has three to five Kodim with a wide working area so that it will gradually be added.

"However, to overcome this, the current task force organization organized by TNI Headquarters will carry out its main tasks and organic functions," said TNI General Andika in Jayapura, Wednesday, December 1.

He said that ideally there are 30 Kodim in Papua because one Kodim oversees 10 Kodim and it will be prepared in stages.

Therefore, the task force that will be held will be the Kodim and Koramil whose duties and functions are territorial as well as the TNI-AL Task Force which will be part of the TNI-AL base and the TNI-AU base for units from the TNI-AU.

Currently in Indonesia there are 15 Kodam with 45 Korem, 333 Kodim and 3630 Koramil.

It will be added gradually, considering that the addition of new Kodim is not only for personnel but also for supporting infrastructure and infrastructure.

"In Congo, Africa, TNI soldiers can deploy 1,600 militia with three figures without bloodshed, why can't in Papua," said Andika, stating that soldiers must be professional and uphold human values.
