At The End Of This Year, The Nunukan Health Office Pursues A COVID Vaccination Target Of Reaching 70 Percent
NUNUKAN - The government of Nunukan Regency, Kaltara is trying to achieve the target of vaccinating residents of up to 70 percent of the population in order to realize group immunity.
Head of the Nunukan District Health Office, Meinstar Tololiu, stated that until now the vaccination achievement in 21 sub-districts in the area is only 64.94 percent.
Vaccinations that take place in the regions are held by the Nunukan Regency Government, agencies such as the TNI/Polri, members of the DPR RI, DPD RI and other community organizations.
"Hopefully the 70 percent target by the end of 2021 can be achieved," he said in Nunukan as reported by Antara, Wednesday, December 1.
The local Health Office continues to pursue this target so that it can be met until the end of 2021.
Touching that there are still people who refuse to be vaccinated, M Tololiu emphasized that education will continue to be provided through community leaders and educators such as teachers to understand the importance of vaccination.
M Tololiu admitted that until now there are still many people who refuse to be vaccinated because they believe in hoax news. Meanwhile, the people concerned do not understand that vaccination is one of the government's steps to break the chain of spreading the COVID-19 virus.
