DENPASAR - The movement of passengers during the Christmas and New Year holidays is not predicted to spike at the Ketapang Port of Banyuwangi, East Java and Gilimanuk Port, Jembrana, Bali.

The prediction is based on the tightening rules for travellers, especially for passengers who will cross at the Ketapang-Gilimanuk Port.

General Manager (GM) of PT ASDP Ketapang, Banyuwangi, Suharto said the prediction was based on the issuance of Circular Letter (SE) of the COVID-19 Task Force Number 24 of 2021.

"Just received the SE Task Force for Handling Covid-19. Regulations and community mobility activities during the Christmas and New Year 2021 periods. This applies from December 24 (2021) to January 2 (2022) Level 3 PPKM will be carried out for Java-Bali," said Suharto, when contacted on Wednesday, December 1.

Then for logistics drivers who have had the complete vaccine or two doses, they must include an antigen test and be valid for 14x24 hours. "In our fleet, there are still enough for 48 ships. Right now, under normal conditions, we run 28 and standby 20 ships. So, there is no problem with the fleet in Ketapang-Gilimanuk," he said.

Suharto said that with the regulation, it was predicted that there would be no increase in passengers.

"I'm sure there won't be such a significant spike. Maybe (the number of passengers) is similar to the time of Eid transportation (last year). My prediction is, it's just gentle, because the current conditions are sloping. sure like this (only)," he explained.
