The National Commission for Disabilities consists of seven commissioners, including a chairperson and a deputy chairperson. The seven commissioners are four people with disabilities, and three non-disabled people.
"This means that this is a form of inclusivity," said Angkie.
The establishment of the National Commission for Disabilities, said Angkie, also shows that the government has been clear and firm in paying attention to the protection and respect for the rights of persons with disabilities.
"The seven commissioners have gone through various stages, where the selection committee has succeeded in creating a leader candidate who will lead the National Commission for Disabilities," he said.
The establishment of the National Disability Commission, said Angkie, is a milestone for Indonesia. The establishment of the National Commission is in accordance with Law Number 8 of 2016 concerning Persons with Disabilities which is strengthened by Presidential Regulation Number 68 of 2020 concerning the National Commission for Disabilities.
With the establishment of the National Commission, Angkie emphasized that people with disabilities have the same space to contribute to Indonesia's development.
