Firli Bahuri: No More Corruption Regarding Investment And Business Permits!
JAKARTA - Chairman of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Firli Bahuri reminded regional heads not to engage in corrupt practices related to investment and business licensing. He said all parties must realize that investment is an important element in the process of growing the economy.
He delivered this warning in the National Seminar on Risk-Based Licensing Transformation in the Mining Sector. The activity was held at the Bahteramas Hall of the Southeast Sulawesi Governor's Office on Wednesday, December 1.
"KPK hopes that there will be no more criminal acts of corruption related to investment and business licensing," Firli said as shown on the KPK RI YouTube.
Firli emphasized that the practice of rasuah robs people of their rights and is a serious crime. In addition, these actions can make the country's economy lose money.
Therefore, he hopes that regional heads will carry out their role in ensuring the certainty of investment convenience and business permits. The reason, Firli said, the two things was related to economic growth in the country.
"This is important because the economic growth factor is influenced by APBN/APBD spending, public consumption, and investment," said the former Deputy for Enforcement of the KPK.
Firli explained that the KPK implemented three corruption eradication strategies, namely through education, prevention, and prosecution. With this strategy, Firli hopes that there will be no more corrupt practices in the country.
"Public education is important because the KPK wants to play a role in educating the nation's life. Through education we instill anti-corruption values, we build anti-corruption character and culture. From culture, an anti-corruption civilization will be formed," he concluded.
